"Tornadoes helping Tornadoes"




On Wednesday, August 9, 2006, the First Annual Scholarship Awards Drawing was held, in which four $1,000 scholarships were given out to the lucky winners of a lottery style drawing.  The awards ceremony was hosted by Dan Ficca along with Director Dick Bridy, who flew in from California to take part.  They welcomed the applicants and their parents and pointed out that 27 students had applied for the awards, of which 55% were young women.

The four winners of a $1,000.00 were the following college students: 

Lauren Stankiewicz is the daughter of Larry and Sharon Stankiewicz, Mount Carmel, and a fourth year Student at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, majoring in Physical Therapy.

    Beth Ann Bingaman is the daughter of Patricia and Roger Bingaman, Kulpmont, and a sophomore at Penn State University, majoring in the Sciences.

Scott Novack is the son of John and Donna Novack, Marion Heights, and a sophomore at Lehigh University, majoring in Accounting and Business.

Joshua Fetteroff is the son of Kenneth and Laurie Beth Fetteroff, Mount Carmel and a sophomore at Lancaster Bible College, majoring in Professional Counseling and Bible.

 The applicants were encouraged to continue to do well in furthering their education and reminded that they could apply again next year if they continue to meet the qualifications.
