MC4A Ninth Annual Membership Meeting and Scholarship Awards Drawing
The Mount Carmel Area Athletic Alumni Association held its ninth annual Membership Meeting and Scholarship Drawing Awards/Dinner at Mattucci’s Willow Café. Attending were members and students who applied for the scholarship awards.
The Mount Carmel Area Athletic Alumni Association (MC4A) is a
non-profit organization with the mission of providing scholarships for Mt.
Carmel Area students who have participated in a sport or supported
interscholastic athletic programs while attending Mount Carmel Area High School,
and in doing so also establish a bond between graduates and current students.
the meeting, the Scholarship Awards Drawing was held, in which seven scholarships
were awarded. The awards ceremony
was hosted by Dan Ficca, president and founder of MC4A. The members and applicants
were welcomed and it was noted that 47 students applied for the scholarships
2014 AWARD RECIPIENTS
The five $2,000 and two $2,500 Scholarship winners were the following students.
Daughter of Joe and Elaine Bartol of Kulpmont, Brooke is a senior attending Bloomsburg University and is majoring in Education (Early childhood).
Daughter of Dave and Lisa Fiamoncini of Atlas, Nicole is a junior attending the University of Pittsburgh and is majoring in Psychology.
Daughter of Michael and Melissa Kuzo of Marion Heights, Amanda is a junior attending Shippensburg University and is majoring in Exercise Science.
Daughter of John and Janice Mazurkevich of Mount Carmel, Jullian is a sophomore attending Shippensburg University.
Son of Sam & Jolene Scicchitano of Mount Carmel, Seth is a senior attending Bloomsburg University and is majoring in Communications.

Son of Erika Varano of Kulpmont, Cody is a junior attending Penn State University (main campus) and is majoring in Biology.
of Ruth Skonecki of Mount Carmel, Emily is a graduate student attending
Thomas Jefferson University and is majoring in Pharmacy
The applicants were encouraged to continue to do well in furthering their education and reminded that they can apply again next year if they continue to meet the qualifications. Before the ceremony, food and refreshments were available to all.
