SCHOLARSHIPS

The purpose of the MC4A is to create an annual lottery scholarship for MCA students and athletes who are furthering their education.The reason we established a lottery style scholarship was to remove any politics that could be involved in selecting a scholarship winner. In August of each year, winners will be picked from all students who qualify and submit a letter of application as defined below.

Scholarship Qualifications

Graduate of Mt. Carmel Area High School.
Participation in any interscholastic or intramural sport .
Participation in a support role to athletes (such as Band / Majorette, Cheerleading / Pep Club, Team Manager / Trainer / Statistician, Media Crew, Ushers / Tickets, Concessions or Other).
  Completion of at least one year of continued education and intend to continue his/her higher education.

Maintain a grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.0 out of a 4.0 grading system.
 
Be enrolled fulltime in an institution of higher learning.
Submit your higher learning institution transcript.
Submit a completed scholarship application to MC4A.
 

After completion of your first year, submit your higher learning institution transcript along with a completed scholarship application to MC4A by July 15.

(In 2011, the award increased from $1,500 to $2,000.  If a winning student is a current dues paying member or if any family member is a current member the award is increased to $2,500.)
